Welcome to our corner of Grand Terrace, CA, where we cherish life with our four amazing children, beloved dogs, and the occasional little guests who affectionately call me Auntie. We also have a serene retreat in the beautiful Ozarks, where we love to escape, often accompanied by our furry companions.

My passion for dogs began in childhood, raised in a dog-friendly home where I learned the joys of whelping, training, and showing. My mother, a dedicated dog fancier, instilled in me the importance of responsible breeding and the pursuit of excellence in Golden Retrievers—focusing on their appearance, structure, temperament, and natural abilities.

I believe in lifelong learning, a value my mentors and family have reinforced throughout my journey. I’m grateful to have worked with remarkable Goldens, and I take immense pride in their achievements. I do hope you join us as we continue to celebrate the love and joy that dogs bring to our lives.

About Southern Golden Retrievers

My journey into breeding Golden Retrievers began in the 1990s, rooted in a deep love for these incredible dogs and their remarkable temperament. Growing up in a dog-loving home, I was fortunate to be surrounded by Goldens, which ignited my passion for their affectionate nature, workability, and eagerness to please. This lifelong admiration has fueled my commitment to raising exceptional pups that enrich families' lives.

I utilize the Bio-Sensor Training method, also known as the "Super Dog Program," originally developed for U.S. military training. This approach focuses on early neurological stimulation, which has proven to enhance the puppies’ resilience and adaptability. In recent years, I have expanded my program to include Avidog, Puppy Culture, and other innovative training methodologies. These comprehensive strategies not only produce beautiful, conformationally sound puppies but also foster well-rounded, trainable companions that thrive in family environments.

At the heart of my breeding philosophy is a commitment to both physical and mental well-being. I prioritize careful, selective breeding to enhance the qualities defined by the breed standard, ensuring that each puppy embodies the ideal Golden Retriever. My goal is to deliver dogs that are not just stunning in appearance but also possess the temperament and personality that make them beloved family members.

Recently, I faced a challenging situation with a litter that underscored my dedication to continuous improvement. Despite losing half of the puppies, I took proactive measures by consulting with veterinary experts to better understand the issues we encountered. This experience taught me valuable lessons about the birthing process, prompting me to adopt a more natural approach. Moving forward, I plan to allow my dogs to whelp in a low-stress, dark environment, minimizing my interference to promote a healthier experience for both mothers and puppies.

I am excited to implement these changes, including the use of traction mats to support the physical development of my pups. I believe these adjustments will contribute to healthier litters in the future, and I’m eager to document this journey on video, sharing the process with all who are interested.
